Bunkhouse Cabin

the BUNKHOUSE Cabin

STep back in time.

Just thirty feet from a sparkling trout stream, the historic Bunkhouse has three rooms furnished much as they might have been when Butch Cassidy spent the Christmas of 1889 here. The bedroom has a queen bed, the bath has antique claw-foot tub with shower, and the main room has a small dining area and living space.

Campfire, hammocks, and swimming holes (for the brave!) will keep you occupied while you’re enjoying some R&R, while nearby hiking trails, rodeos, and high mountain lakes will give you an excuse to explore. Drink your coffee on the porch on sunny mornings and enjoy the sunsets around the campfire overlooking the creek in the evening. Many folks have been tempted to stay all summer!

If you are looking for a place to stay near the Tetons, look no further! Located on the bank of a river, this picturesque cabin was both cozy and quaint. We arrived mid-evening and were greeted by a handwritten welcome note and cookies. Carolyn was an amazing host and we can’t wait to go back on our next trip!

Walking into the bunkhouse is like stepping back in time but with modern amenities and cute touches that make it a welcoming a warm place to stay. We cooked dinner 3 nights using the hotplate, outdoor grill, and a cast-iron pan supplied with full place settings. Carolyn was a lovely host and made sure we had everything we needed. The bed was a fluffy slice of heaven after a long day of fishing.

The cabin at Jakey’s Fork exceeded all our expectations; its charm was perhaps only exceeded by the surrounding natural beauty of the cascading stream and the vistas of the Wind River Mountains. Hiking and fishing are literally right out the front door. This is the perfect getaway for those looking for an authentic western vacation. It gave us just what we needed - a memorable and relaxing respite from the city.
